In our sixth retro review of Sliders, the wives take over! Amada and Liane are joined by Damon and Mike to review “The Weaker Sex” (originally aired as 1×07).
The women are in control as FANDOM ENTANGLEMENT returns for the sixth in our series of retro reviews for SLIDERS! This time, we’re taking a look at Season 1, Episode 7 (or rather, Episode 6 in story continuity order), “The Weaker Sex” (original airdate: May 3, 1995 on Fox). Arturo finds himself in a potentially deadly mayoral race on a world where men are treated as “the weaker sex” and women hold the positions of power and influence.
This episode was written by Dawn Prestwich & Nicole Yorkin and directed by Vern Gillum.
Co-hosts Amada Anderson & Liane Fisher Bloxam are joined by their man servants (sorry, associates) Damon Sugameli & Mike Bloxam, as they discuss this cautionary tale about role reversal in a female-dominated society and debate how realistic it actually would have been if women took control of a male-dominated world hundreds of years ago. Would war and violence truly be a thing of the past? Would the stereotypical male/female roles be so easily reversed on a Woman’s World? And is Arturo truly as sexist as this episode makes him out to be? We ask these types of questions and more. Hope you enjoy our analysis and review!
